Earlier today I tried showing a coworker a small prototype I built, but the demo page kept acting weird because too many random visitors had stumbled onto it. That got me thinking about whether developers should lock down demo environments when they’re testing new features. I like keeping things open for quick sharing, but at the same time it can cause slowdowns or unexpected bugs when strangers hit the page. Curious how others handle this balance — restrict it or leave it accessible?

Back when I was hosting a few trial interfaces, I ran into the same issue. Too many unplanned visits made the whole thing unstable, and I eventually added a simple gate so it wouldn’t overload. When I checked the aviamaster demo, it did something similar by verifying visitors before letting them through. It reminded me why I started doing that too. Even if it feels a bit inconvenient, a controlled demo often saves you from chasing weird errors caused by random traffic hitting the page at the wrong moment.

Scrolling around here reminded me I need to replace the batteries in my wireless keyboard before it completely gives up. It’s been lagging all afternoon, and I kept thinking it was a software glitch until I noticed the little blinking light in the corner. I’ll probably grab some new ones later, because typing with half-dead batteries is driving me nuts already.
