Well, those screenshots explain the issue: you're trying to play xvid - codec. It's broken in libv ...

Strange, but I can play smoothly on 3.4.39 kernel based Debian and Lubuntu I uploaded. Is it possible to implement jernej`s great work into Armbian? I mean Kodi for H3.

Jernej's Kodi doesn't run under X, as far as I know it runs all on its own on the plain framebuffer. Technically there shouldn't be anything stopping this, but going through all the changes and things that Jerner has done would be a whole effing lot of work. You could ask if Jernej wants to make a version of Kodi for Armbian since, at the moment, he seems to know the most about the topic, but I doubt he wants to do that as he is working hard on his own Openelec - port.

"Strange, but I can play smoothly on 3.4.39 kernel based Debian and Lubuntu I uploaded" -- Are you sure you're using hardware-decoding with mpv on those images? I mean, it could of course be that there is a bug in Armbian, I just would like more details so that it could, hopefully, be fixed.

We are sharing and merging kernel issues with Jernej and we made a beer together ;) ... but we haven't discussed bringing KODI to Armbian. This means (a lot?) extra work which current crew doesn't see interest in / it's low priority. Both projects are opensource so if experienced people join in anything can be done.

I've managed to get rid of high idle load on Armbian 5.03 - the cause is usb-hardware-sc in D state.
What you need is to change orangepi2.bin (convert it to FEX first using sunxi-tools) section:
  1. [usbc0]
  2. usb_port_type = 1
  3. usb_detect_type = 0
Copy code

Now idle load is only 0.1

Oh, I didn't know, thanks for info! AFAIK there is no way to upgrade from 5.03 to 5.05 nicely? I need to put new image to SD Card?

All well known and fixed since long ago. You should not try to fix old releases but use newer one  ...

I've installed Armbian 5.05 from scratch and the same high idle load due to usb-hardware-sc process:

There are troubles with board detection and when the board is not properly detected, weird thing can happen. Here is my desktop based Opi+ login prompt:

  1.   ___                               ____  _
  2. / _ \ _ __ __ _ _ __   __ _  ___  |  _ \(_)  _
  3. | | | | '__/ _` | '_ \ / _` |/ _ \ | |_) | |_| |_
  4. | |_| | | | (_| | | | | (_| |  __/ |  __/| |_   _|
  5. \___/|_|  \__,_|_| |_|\__, |\___| |_|   |_| |_|
  6.                        |___/

  7. Welcome to ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.110-sun8i

  8. System load:   0.01             Up time:       6 hours
  9. Memory usage:  23 % of 1001Mb   IP:            172.16.100.144
  10. CPU temp:      44°C
  11. Usage of /:    31% of 7.3G

  12. [ 9 updates to install: apt-get upgrade ]
All USB ports are working, SATA is working, load is low as expected - machine is idling.

When will this issue fixed? Tried 5.05 server. I got a Orange Pi 2 and it gets detected (or not) as an Orange Pi 2 Mini. The strange think is that the script.bin points to orangepi2.bin, so was it correctly detected and the SSH login script shows me just the wrong board name?

It's 5.06 now, we don't have an image yet ... you can check by yourself if it is fixed.

Check commit log, issues, pull requests (open and close):

https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/commits/master
https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/issues

Changes are made on daily basis but there are many issues ... can't give you a precise answer to "when" on any issues. One might take days / weeks to be fixed, some are done by the way.
