Have you read the self-description of libre/openelec? "Just enough OS for KODI"

As Kodi is started in the RO partition and runs full screen, how would you do that? End Kodi before starting mpv? Run it full screen in a layer over Kodi? As an add-on like the games in future Kodi versions?

BeautifulSoup4 is giving me dependency error and constantly showing it's available for upgrade. Apparently this latest version in no longer compatible with Python 2.6. So, we really needs to be updated to Python 3 to cover the dependency changesas reported on (url)https://groups.google.com/forum/ ... ulsoup/yhk0RHVBQKM9 (/url)  Also noting you can nor disable or remove BeautifulSoup4 without a major addon upset ocourring (I tried that already).
Of course I'm not the one to correct this with my limited programming knowledge, but, I was able to find the cause and a potential cure. so, please bring this to the attention of those more capable as soon as possible and maybe the main Kodi stream.
Update: I finally gave up, and did a total Kodi "Refresh", bueatifulsoup4 now loads properly, with all dependancies. But all the downfalls of the past, are new troubles again. First off getting the screen resoluition into 1024i, when the system video window is "grayed out" and won't change. Now kodi loads and idels fine, but fails by re-booting after a few minutes ov any IPTV stream being viewed, dispite the usual buffering tweeks. What's worse is it's doing this on both of my units, so it's got to be a stream handling issue not hardware.

Hi,

I have OrangePI PC and Openelec is working ok with HDMI monitor/TV. It is not with older one that has only DVI/VGA, I am using HDMI->DVI cable. Is it possible to run Openelec on opipc with hdmi-dvi cable? If so can you give some hints on how can I make it work? I have tried to path script.bin with tool from armbian community but the screen remains black...

@jernej
I finally found the reason that I had to toggle my HDMI inputs to display video. Why I didn't see this before, was because OpenELEC's, "Video settings" were locked in "Windowed" mode, and thus not displaying the working resolution, which as it turns out was 1920x1080p @60. So, since my monitor is at 1080i it didn't recognize and would not display. Somehow I got it out of "Windowed" mode and could see the list of available display resolutions. Here's the bad part, despite re-setting to the correct res, Openelec can't quite remember it's suppose to hold the selected mode setting, more than a few restarts. what to do?   I'm ready to give up on OpenELEC in favor of anything that can lode a later Kodi version, that can be used with a VPN.

I have one annoying problem with OpenElec. Maybe it's not this build specific, someone more familiar could tell. I watch most of my movies from network Samba sharing. The device is OrangePi PC and the last working build of OpenElec. Through LAN connection at 100Mbit everything is fine, all h/w decodded supported formats, all resolutions and bitrates, are playing ok. But through external Wifi module i have problems with high bitrates, causing lag, freezes and a/v desync (no audio until sync). At first i thought is is because Wifi bandwidth was up to 150Mbit/s with my firsts modules (Ralink RT3070 and Realtek RTL8188ETV) and it could be insufficient for high bitrates, because most of these videos are playing fine on my SmartTV with 300Mbit wifi and only really high bitrates are lagging. But i also tests with 300Mbit adapters on OpiPC (Ralink RT3072 and Realtek RTL8192EU) and there is the same lag on the same videos.
So, as bandwidth is more than enough even in 150Mbit, i noticed other thing. When the lag happens one CPU core is at 100% load and parameter "forward:0 B" is at 0%. When i pause CPU core load drops down and parameter forward:0 B soon reach 100%. So when i resume video it plays ok for a while, but soon (the higher the bitrate, the sooner), until forward:0 B drops back to 0% and one of CPU cores load at 100% again. I guess "forward:0 B" must be something like buffering and it's too short value for wifi connection at higher bitrates. If i am right, is there a way to increase this buffers? Or maybe it's something else, like slow sdcard. But i doubt this, because it's brand new Samsung Class10 and i have similar problem on OrangePi+2e, from eMMC. Any ideas?

You can try and play with the advancedsettings xml for caching. i had some issues with 10+Mbit 1080p movies. Same kind of issue: forward getting to 0B and getting stuck there. However didn't see something with CPU.

To be honest: your problem sounds like the CPU is throttling. Do you have sufficient cooling and decent PSU?

You are right, it appear to be mostly (but not all), power issue. I am using some sort of scheme - powering OpiPC through TV USB port, so it will power up when TV is started and Opi will shut down TV through CEC, shutting down itself too, avoiding the need to go to stand-by. Is is too comfortable to give up on it , even if i knew tv USB power is not enough, although it's marked 1A. For example - Opi+2e is not stable that way, only OpiPC. So now i am planning to modify one of these, i just receive:

Anyway, with 3A external PSU, freezes are a lot more fewer. But still presents. I guess OpiPC have some weird power scheme and can't provide enough current trough USB port to wifi adapter, even with good PSU. I think i will try some modification to power peripherals directry through power supply. But why are those Oranges so badly constructed anyway? They don't have PMU and still USB ports are not directly to power connector, causing a lot ot troubles.
