I am trying to use the RK3399 as a video recorder from a camcorder. I am running Android (OrangePi-rk3399_Android_update_20180712.img). So far every example/method for recording I've tried leads to stuttering video with skipped frames. Ive tried using Camera1 and Camera2 APIs. Ive tried using the sample code from the Grafika project. It all ends up about the same. I'm trying to encode 720p H264 video @ 4Mbps. Is there anything I can do to reduce this behavior or increase the encoding performance?
I also have the same kind of performance issue with a standard ffmpeg.
It does work with gst-launch under Linux, but produces huge files.
My goal would be to recompile ffmpeg with RockChip hardware acceleration...
For the time being, I managed to recompile ffmpeg, but I don't know yet how to add hardware acceleration.
