I have simle GPS module with serial interface. When I connect to serial interface, I can read NMEA data (cat /dev/ttyS2). I copy property gps .xml file into Permission directory. But GPS soft don't see any NMEA data.
Anybody have working gps.default.so file? Or somebody can help me?

Hi.
Which version of android you are using? Which pins you connect the RX-TX?

I am also working on this problems. But I use the usb-gps receiver (I can read NMEA data from cat /dev/ttyUSB0).
I add in build.prop file: ro.kernel.android.gps=ttyUSB0
and add gps.default.so in /system/lib/hw
But GPS soft don't work.

PS Sorry. I do not speak English. I use Google translate.

PS Плата дерьмо и поддержка такая же.

It sounds like you have taken the right steps to try to get your GPS module working, but you are still not seeing any NMEA data. I suggest double-checking to make sure that you have copied the .xml file into the Permissions directory correctly. If that hasn't solved the problem, it might be helpful to check if anyone else has had similar issues and if they were able to find a working gps.default.so file. Hopefully someone can  Lab grown diamonds help you out and get your GPS module up and running!
