I read a lot of posts on this forum about troubles using the OrangePi 2Giot with linux distros such as ubuntu. For example:

  • Wireless issues (very unstaable wireless network)
  • Lacking support for GPIO with wiringpi/wiringOp
  • Boot problems
  • Lacking support for GSM communication

Some posts are quite old though and it looks like things have been better. But its difficult to judge if the problems really have been solved or not. I do need all features above and also want to use the pi4j java library for development. My question is how the support status for this device is today. Is features working as expected with latest OPi releases of ubuntu? Or should I choose some other solution for my project? Would be very greatefull to get feedback from somone that has been playing with OPi 2G IOT. I also want to know if anyone have used the Pi4j with OPi 2G IOT.

Thanks!

Ok. That silence talk. I probably go for another board then. It's kind of sad when the product do all the things I need according to the specification
