I am happy to announce the open source OSC DMX out / Pixel controller.

It is open source (https://github.com/vanvught/rpidmx512) and open hardware (https://github.com/vanvught/h3dmx512-zip/tree/master/eagle).

Supported addressable leds are: WS2801, WS2811, WS2812, WS2812B, WS2813, WS2815, SK6812 (RGBW), APA102, APA102C

Using the led grouping option (led_grouping=1) you can easily control the addressable led’s with TouchOSC. Sample templates are available.

The open source code runs on the Allwinner H2+ SoC which can be found in the supported board: Orange Pi Zero

The Orange Pi Zero board has on-board SPI flash. Hence the SDCard is used once for installing the firmware. And afterwards the firmware boots from SPI flash.

Whether you're looking to control a single pixel or an entire array of them, a pixel controller is the best way to do it. OSC DMX out is a great  gout in foot  option for those who want to control their pixels wirelessly. It's also very easy to use and set up.
