Getting back to my original post before it was taken way off topic.....

Has anybody else had a dead on arrival board that exhibits no functionality other than the red power LED?

I have now started a dispute as I can get no response from the supplier.
I have bought a banana pi as well now and will see how that performs when (and if) it arrives.
The Orange pi is now in it's box and ignored.

Very unimpressed with OrangePi support.

Not interested in helping but instead simply ignoring everything I wrote via AliExpress and treating me like an idiot and telling me to do all the things I have already done and have told them I have done.

YES i used a class 10 card - who doesn't?

YES I used a greater than 2A supply (5A supply from Sony) and not connected by the microUSB socket.

YES I used a proper HDMI monitor and not a  converter from VGA to HDMI (they're rubbish anyway)

YES I used the images from the orangepi site burned onto NEW cards and it still didn't work.

YES I do know how to prepare, format and then burn .IMG files onto TF cards. I've been doing it ever since the RPi first appeared.

Interestingly my Banana Pi has now arrived, burned the image to a new card, plugged it in and I had no problem with that out of the box - just this OrangePi is the problem.

Mind you it seems that lots of people have problems with them - especially the USB ports.

So this is an example of how BAD orangepi is as a company.
Nothing is happening, no replies for nearly a week and no refund via Aliexpress.
DO NOT BUY AN ORANGEPI, THEY ARE UNRELIABLE RUBBISH!

Sorry to hear your problem isn't resolved. Do you have somebody you know in your surroundings that also has a orangepi? You could try to swap boards and cards to be sure the board is defect. I would be happy to help, but I live in the Netherlands.

My OPi is also DOA, I dream of getting a RED LED, so far only steady yellow and green on network connector. No activity on serial UART. Power is 2.1A, in fact all of my working PI2 connections were used. ALI refuses to reply. Why would any company display a 'Dispute Procedure'? As If they know they are selling crap products. Reputable companies ship working product and do not ask us to negotiate a settlement. Two days left as the clock is ticking; however in the UK we get 3 year warranties so ALI .......

OBTW the OPi software works in my Bananapi so it is A-OK  Save your money and get a real RPI2 or BPi
