I am going to try this, this weekend if anyone else wants to report back, and let me know if it format your SD card and created two partitions.

You should be able to load gParted on another linux machine and then just edit the drive; right after you restore the OS image.  It's how I do it.  No fuss.  You could even create the drive then crate another and switch between the two in a card reader to edit them with gParted.  It is imporant you edit the drive image before you do anything else with the newly created OS drive; only to prevent loss should anything go wrong.  However, updating and upgrading it first probably wouln't be a bad thing but it might be a waste if the drive reformat goes wrong.  I have a video of it around here someplace.  I can upload it to Vimeo or YouTube if you like.

Are Linux Ubuntu 18.04 and Deabian 10 images 32 bit? 64BIT and the GUI system is not usable. I mean imageas which are on download site.

For the CSI I have only found a patch for the clock. Did someone have more ? This is of special interest for me because on my design a use a FPGA to convert the MIPI CSI-2 two lanes of a image sensor into the DVP signals accepted by the H3 and this have obvious implication on the code used to configure the sensor by I2C. So If a get a chance to hack on a code that is likely hit the mainline, I will probably save time.
