I thought that I would start an Orange Pi 5 thread for pre-order/delivery discussion and questions.

I myself have ordered the 8Gb model.

My questions are:

What size heatsink is required to cover the RK3588S SOC?

In the absense of a case, I will want to raise the board using some standoffs but the specs make no mention of the size of the mounting holes at each corner (M2/3/4/5 etc), so confirmation is required.

Will there eventually be an official case available?

What mechanism is available for attaching a fan (it doesn't look as if there is any)?

Does the RAM run in dual channel mode?

Does Android/Orange Pi OS run in 64 bit mode to allow installation of all apps?

Can the Operating Systems be run from all sources (SD Card/SSD/Exrernal drive?

Is multi-boot possible (the presence of the 16MB SPI flash might indicate it)?

Are you considering an OS installation option similar to OOWOW, as used by Khadas?

Although the recommended power supply is 5v/4a, can one for the Pi 4 be used (some users of other RK3588S products are reporing that it can)? 12v/1.5a would be a better solution where more of these standard power supplies are available across the globe.

Can universal power supplies utilising USB Power Delivery (PD) be used (there was indication with the Radxa Rock 5B boards that they did not work)?

Why are there no 5v/4a power supplies available with UK/Australian plugs?

Why has this been moved from a general discussion thread to one where very few will ever see it?

No, I can't.

I can just using OrangePi5_RK3588S_Android12_spi-nvme_v1.0.0.img with RKDevTool.

Thanks for the heads up.

Sadly it seems that this can only be downloaded within China because of the need for an internal Baidu account.

Hopefully somebidy will download them and post to globally acessable storage sites.

Yes, I am able to flash a TF img using Balena etcher.

But I prefer RPI-Imager. It works very well for Linux images.
