I have already commented.

I have found that calling
  1. fbi -d /dev/fb8 -T 1 -noverbose -a example.jpg
Copy code

will remain in the memory, and the next call  launch again another copy of fbi.
After a while the system crashes because of no memory.
You do not know how to call displaying the image and remove the fbi after that?
I have used
  1. system("pkill -9 fbi");
Copy code
at the moment it looks ok

Its ok, is big for that price.
The only drawback is that it is quite slow.
But if it is not used to display the video is ok.
