Hi all,

I own a OrangePi Plus2 H3 and I successfully installed ubuntu on it a few weeks ago.

Now I want to change something on the OS on the EMMC while booting from SD Card. Is that possible?
I can boot from sd but I can't find the emmc. It kind of looks like emmc doesn't show up if sd card is present.

Output of 'sudo lsblk -o NAME,FSTYPE,SIZE,MOUNTPOINT,LABEL'. 'sdb' is an external usb drive.

NAME        FSTYPE   SIZE MOUNTPOINT LABEL
sdb                  1.4T
└─sdb1      ext4     1.4T
mmcblk0             14.5G
├─mmcblk0p1 vfat      41M
└─mmcblk0p2 ext4     3.4G /

I just want to edit one file.
I hope anyone can help me with that. Thanks in advance!!

I met the same question few weeks ago and I re-edited one file few days ago. But I am not sure whether we are interested in the same one of in the same document, so I do not know it works in the same way.
I packaged some tools in a USB and use it as the external tool.

eMMC is working fine with our (supported / updated / fixed) images, while I am not so sure for those you find at official download.

So does anyone know how to do it with the official Ubuntu Image? How did you managed to do it using usb? I can't even find or mount the emmc.

Why not use Igor Pecovnik's images ? (http://www.orangepi.org/orangepi ... &extra=page%3D1)
They are somewhat lighter then official ones, but still if you need you can install missing from official repos.
To use EMMC with official image, I guess you need to build a new kernel with corresponding modules from linux-sunxi branch (that is a linux kernel community for Allwinner CPUs).
However, it is not that easy, and Igor has already done that.

I can't change the image. Is it possible with that image? I found the mmc settings in the script.bin binary which I converted to .fex and changed them with no effect. Is it possible to mount emmc using these fex config parameters?

I think you can try to use boot partition from images that support emmc. It might work since it contains emmc-aware kernel image.
