Honza Prelacka shared this on Facebook:

Let me share OPI PC PLUS ANDROID image based on official firmware offers:
1) working WiFi, LAN
2) OS in english
3) working, non chinese app launcher
4) fixed CPU crazy overvolting and overheating (heatsink still required!!!)
5) Youtube, Playstore, Gmail is available ...
How to install:
1) download, unrar
2) burn image using Win32DiskImager or DD to 8GB micro SD card
3) boot the device from the SD card, it starts armbian... don't be scared
4) follow the onscreen instructions, but basically you should run "./burn" script
5) wait burn process to finish
6) run "shutdown now"
7) remove the sd card, unplug the power
8) plug the power back and boot your device
9) wait few moments, it will take time till all aps are loaded
Credits goes to people around Armbian for their great work.

can you boot your device from sdcard?Just try armbian, pubuntu, openelec or other os to check. Download the image, burn and try to boot from opipcplus microsd card slot. the procedure is the same also for this particular android image..

And does i did a factory reset in android when i gave this to a friend and it bricked it and would n ...

1) booting from usb stick is possible in some linux distros. i never tried this with Android. Read more here: http://www.orangepi.org/orangepi ... =viewthread&tid=342
2) device not bootable after factory reset is highly valuable feature comming with offcial android. Ths is bit complex to exlain.. bt let me try. there is no source code to build own kernel so there is not much you can do in order to build everything on your own. So basically you have to take kernel and related partition layout from official android firmware. official opi android has ~8partitions (system, user data, kernel, config, system backup ...)
To make it even more compex the image byitself is not bootable. You have to use phoenix card tool to apply some magic to it to make it bootable. This means that you have to extract partitions from official image, change it, repack changed partitions back into one img file and than use phoenix card to apply his magic to the image to make it bootable.  Ufortunatelly, phoenix car tool after applying its magic produces overlaping partitions. So my bet would be that wrong data are copied to system partition during factory reset. The not booting android after factory reset is a legacy feature inherited from official android.

image tested and it's a great start point. congrats!
supersu is a system app (and so cannot be removed) but no su binary present, as already known.
my temps are quite crazy, over 80°C in standby only cpuz opened and no app installed...
i hope you can make this rom even better...  thank you!

you should try the official android... i would bet on temperature above 95..
i am using this version of kingo root:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/kin ... droid-apk-download/
and i dumped binaries after rooting the device by kingoroot and i suceeded to root the same divece with these steps:
1) burn the prelacka's image, don't boot
2) copy dumped binaries to the device
3) boot the device
4) Device is rooted..
is there any place to share the binaries? it is just few megabytes
