The NAS could connect to every Orange pi boards.
It looks like from the picture thai it is connected to the 1x13 expansion connector, so it is suitable only for Pi Zero boards?
And SATA is derived from USB-SATA bridge chip, right?

When we give the power from NAS board, start the zero board automatic with out power? Or we must give power for zero and Nas board?

Thanks

It seems it supports also backup battery.
We need the specs for it.

On a second thought the white connector seems to be for powering the sata drive and not for external battery.

Hm,

If the SATA connector is like the PI plus boards, it is a USB to SATA connector. Hence it would have a max. data through put of 480Mbit/s = 80Mbyte/s, not counting the loss to protocol transfer. To find out if there is something mentioned in the PI Plus schematics, I tried to download them, but the google drive link is broken (again...).

Interesting would be the maximal data rate for the GPIO and also it would be good to know what interface data rates the MSATA or M2 connector has.

But IMHO the OrangePI and all the other development boards are not usable as NAS (e.g. the BananaPI R1). They all lack of the necessary speed. None of the allwinner boards reach even the 1000Mb/s network speed.

A NAS required different hardware after all. I did build out of my old AMD 870 mainboard a RAID 5 NAS. There I have full SATA3 speed and GBit LAN. My old PhenomII is running on 2 cores only @ 800MHz and the whole system uses about 10W in IDLE and about 35W on full load.

The Orange PI's or others will never reach the full potential of a real NAS. But they have so many other uses e.g. smart home, smart tv box, CCTV, CNC and so many others.

Mine was working, now it still lights red then green then red and just sits there.  Its a new OPI 2 plus 49 hrs old.  Very unimpressed with quality of these devices, ditto all the builds they are full of problems compared to relatively stable RPi images.    OPi really needs to clean up its web site, QA all its content, make sure all image builds are certified and write documentation for every product that is complete.  What is the procedure to force a full restore to default?  And how do we put image on EEM instead of SD card.
Again buyer beware, very risky product to buy.  Never have had a RPi failure of any kind over 30+ units, ditto BBB.

1. Did you check the voltage at the 5V rail? If under 5V replace the power supply with one which can supply a stable 5V output.
2. If thats OK, do you get anything at th UART port?

I got this expansion board and OPi 2+. In the description is said that it can connect with any OrangePi board. How? It's clear for PiZero, but on which pins I have to connect it with OPi 2+?
P.S. I can't log on the forum with Edge browser

Ok, I got:
1.        Orange PI Prime with GPIO x40.
2.        Orange PI Zero NAS with GPIO x13.

How to connect these boards?

You need to use a USB-USB cable to connect them.
