I just installed LibreELEC for the orange pi zero and it still has kodi 16.1, is it possible for me  ...

No, update isn't possible. You need to download Libreelec 8 from microdev.it. Sadly, there is no HW acceleration.

Oh that's too bad, the orange pi software support is pretty bad. I hope the company improves on that instead of releasing new boards. I'm able to play some 720p videos on the orange pi zero with kodi 16, I'd love to try kodi 17 on it since some add ons aren't compatible with kodi 16.

Greetings to all!

Tell me please, is it possible to run Libreelec 7 on Orange Pi Zero plus 2 H3? If yes, which image should I use?

Sure, it is possible (all H3 is OK), however there is no image for that specific OPi. You can try to add that board support in the sources and build an image for it (that is the best thing to do), or you can try to use any other image and modify some stuffs like the script.bin...

Thanks for the answer!
Yes, I've already tried several variants of images, but unfortunately I could not launch the built-in wifi ap6212a.
In my opinion, the most suitable OPi Lite card.
I also want to notify the image developer that there have been changes in the URLs of some packages, namely: wpa_supplicant and liberation-fonts-ttf

In the settings package.mk for wpa_supplicant (~/orangepi/LibreELEC_OPI/packages/network/wpa_supplicant/package.mk), you need to change the address to:
  1. PKG_SITE = "http://w1.fi/wpa_supplicant/"
  2. PKG_URL = "http://w1.fi/releases/$PKG_NAME-$PKG_VERSION.tar.gz"
Copy the Code

for liberation-fonts-ttf (~/orangepi/LibreELEC_OPI/packages/x11/font/liberation-fonts-ttf/package.mk)
  1. PKG_SITE = "http://sources.libreelec.tv"
  2. PKG_URL = "http://sources.libreelec.tv/mirror/liberation-fonts-ttf/$PKG_NAME-$PKG_VERSION.tar.gz"
Copy the Code

My attempts to change scipt.bin (in the settings of the opilite.fex package) and the insertions of the necessary firmware files in the /lib/firmware folder did not lead to success, the wifi adapter just refused to work. On other images (not LibreELEC) this adapter works fine, but there is no HW video decoding, it's sad.
I just want to use this board (OPi Zero Plus 2) for a small media player in the kitchen, not via HDMI but through TV-Out.

I continue to seek solutions to solve the problem.

Can anyone have any ideas?

Libreelec 7 for OPi Zero not support internal WLAN (xr819)? Why? And how to add support? Create ./config/firmware and copy firmware from Armbian not work :-(

I tried too using this sources, but no success...

The first attempt to add the new wireless driver support in the build system, you need to create a new "package" in "packages/linux-drivers" folder, creating a "package.mk" file to get, build and install that sources. Then, you need to add this driver in "projects/H3/options" (ADDITIONAL_DRIVERS+=" mt7601u xradio").
