Better to use Ubuntu live CD or USB, you can run it on pc without install.
To avoid size error, go to GParted application and delite all partitions on your SD cart.

The Android APK version of KingoRoot doesn't work for H3Droid, but the Windows PC version works fine.
Just download the Windows version of KingoRoot, connect Orange Pi to your computer with a microUSB cable using the OTG port, go to UsbSwitch app and select "Enable device mode" and make sure that you've got USB debugging mode checked in developer settings.
After that, just follow the steps in the KingoRoot PC app

It worked fine for me a few weeks ago with my Orange Pi Zero, and it should work now as well, but I can't test it right now.
Good luck

Sorry then, I didn't know that
Anyway, if I remember well I was capable to root my OPi Zero using this method using H3Droid version 1.2.5 (it was actually almost a month ago), so if adb will get fixed in a later version, you should be able to root your device with the KingoRoot PC app then.

We could also use the recovery flashable SuperSU zip to get root access, but as I know there is no way to flash .zip files in H3Droid (or any H3-based Android system) without having root already (because then we should have tried FlashFire, but it also needs root).

So it looks like we have to wait this time until USB adb mode gets fixed, or use an older version to get root access inside the system.

hello all.

Orange One have the same "rescue mode" + power button  problem, i think devs must look for other way to enter in rescue mode.

Anyway not work for me, my orange one boot, but get stuck in a screen with four vertical strips (red, greenm, blue,yellow...)

that screen hide possible errors

led status: when load that screen switch from red to green (steady) .
red never blink

Best kodi support for h3droid is offered by SPMC ( a fork of kodi from a team member ) which can use older API levels.please report if you have crashs while playing media on 512 MB boards .

And sorry but we don't have orange pi one / zero  to do advanced testing unless somebody help us for those boards ...
