I think that the old OPi (with the optional eMMC) is the best bet at the moment.  I've managed to get the camera and 7" LCD screen working here, gmac works, wi-fi works, IR works, BT via dongle works.  And it all runs from its eMMC.  I've added a 3V battery to mine so the RTC clock works.  I can't clone the display (e.g LCD and HDMI) but this seems to be a problem with all A20s.

As described in another post, if you want your os in sata disck, edit (or create) a uEnve.txt file in your boot partition/folder, and add this
bootargs=rootwait root=/dev/sda1 (if your os is in the first disk partition)
For the cpu temp a solution could be to find the cpu schematics, and reduce the performances to a lower value (changing the values in script.bin if my memory don't faults), in this way you reduce too the need voltages and i don't think running a quad core at 1.2ghz (for exemple) may reduce performances drastically
