Hello guys! I've tried to use this orange 4g-iot. After android was installed on the device, I got android desktop that often goes to reboot. Sometimes it cannot boot, in this case I have on hdmi monitor some small display picture with some percentage on it. Is that something wrong with hardware? And anyway, is there any ETA of getting normal linux, say in 6months for example?

Hello guys! I've tried to use this orange 4g-iot. After android was installed on the device, I got a ...

The Android 6 that comes with it is set up for a cell phone sized display.  It is running some Mediatek GUI and has not been reworked to enable the standard Android GUI.  Personally I am not going to mess with working on this Android 6 and I will wait for the the Android 8 port that is due in a week or two.

I do hope the Android 8 port improves two things:
1) Supports standard 720P and 1080P HDMI modes including DVI which has no HDCP.
2) Boots into the normal Android GUI

For my own project I'd like to see a camera and LCD made available.

The provided Android 6 source does build. It took me a little while to find the ancient Java and tools it needed, but once you find the right tools it does build.
I think it needed java-1.7.0-openjdk-amd64

I flash my 4G-IoT with windows 7.
After debugging, I removed the J5 jumper.
But there are problems with GPIO and UART.
Not by any means fails to connect.

Some mistake in User Guide Installation Orange Pi 4G-IOT from Orange Pi. In step flashing firmware with Flash Tools in Windows, if cannot download firmware and after remove J5 jumper still cannot, because system in flashing mode just 1 second, to fast. So step e switch step f, you mush click download button first and then put USB data cable. After that you can flashing Orange Pi 4G-IOT. I hope help anyone for flashing 4G-IOT, thanks
