Hi

I'm both very happy and disappointed by Orange Pi company !! Their products look great but unhappy no software support !! I tried the Ubuntu server avalaible on orangepi website for the Pi One Plus and discovered it doesn't even have support for serial USB which is a basic of system !!
Way to get a working image ? as it's worthless to make nice hardware if it doesn't have good software support....

There are tools available to build a new kernel from source:  https://github.com/orangepi-xunlong/OrangePi_Build

> Device Drivers > USB support > USB Serial Converter support
Check whatever you use

Their scripts for building stuff is designed to run on Ubuntu based systems...well, that is my guess at least.

Anyway. The script testing the password against sudo. So if you get sudo and add your user account to sudoers simply enter your user accounts password and it should work fine.

By the way. Before you run into the next issue make sure curl is installed on your system....
Oh, almost forgot: You would not mind to do me a small favor and check your loadavg on your One Plus board? Having some trouble there...

For ubuntu that's possible but in that case script should generate some errors but no die silently !
Account on which I did the test is already part of sudoers so it's something else ! My main concern is that it's probably useless to build it by hand as in all matters source supplied by manufacturer to build it are really old (few months already) and probably have still that problem !

For the load avg do you have the problem with Ubuntu Server ? as my board has run few weeks with current Ubuntu server image supplied by the crap manufacturer without problems or crash !

The problem occurs on all provided images. Tried Android, Ubuntu server as well as Debian. The load rises to 3 immediately after boot without any processes draining cpu time.

Sadly, this git-repo does not support the Orange Pi RK3399 (yet?)

I have checked it out from time to time since I bought my RK3399 in march but still nothing...

Unfortunately Armbian does not support this board (yet? time will tell...) so you are stuck for now...
