Starting with a Post by User moinelf saying that if we want mainline kernel support, we should start working on it by ourselfs.

So this is a try to get a team to achieve mainline kernel support. I can imagine donating a small amount to all team members, if we manage to get it working!

Team

Organisation: / Support / Testing : P.i.joe, KY69

Programming:

Feel free to join. It will be good to get some people involved that have good programming skills.

Thanks in advance for your interest!

Your best bet is to work with the linux-sunxi team with this...they have merged a lot of the patches delivered by jemk https://lkml.org/lkml/2015/5/15/505 and he has also added some u-boot changes https://github.com/jemk/u-boot-sunxi/commits/sunxi/h3.
With this and a rootfs you will be as far as most of the other boards in terms of running on mainline.
