I will answer to my question myself

I installed ubuntu 15.04 and enabled mali drivers. videos are working with smplayer. resolution is fine but there is some hang. anybody have any recommendation?

Does this mean programs that need hw acceleration, like kodi, should work now?

I am not sure. just trying smplayer on ubuntu 15.04.
should do something else?
