Mainline support will be here soon (kernel 4.5+) and this will be much better for server operations

Looking forward to Mainline support with a view to  upgrade the 'ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.110-sun8i' server .

I have just been getting ridiculous errors and unfortunately I think that is going to ruin the OPi f ...

1. All avaliable images for Orange Pi are using more or less the same kernel, so you can't expect any difference. Lately, Armbian and Openelec are going forward with development, so wo do progress but we can't fix (all) shitty wireless drivers. It's way too much work for a small group. We will try to fix a driver for onboard wireless chip, that's planned, the rest is up to community. If someone will fix drivers and prepare for merge, they will become a part of a kernel, otherwise you are on your own. You stil can compile drivers, without recompiling a kernel, ... but I don't know which sources are good.

2. This is Linux and drivers for some low cost wifi adaptors are simply crap. Vendors doesn't care.

Looked into the 8192cu driver fix. Will try this tut out now with a fresh install of armbian server.

So the question now is how do I get it to boot always loading the new correct driver? EDIT: Nevermind got everything working .

Tried the latest version on opc and also have wifi issues. Chipset is 8188etv and while it detect the adapter and lists wifi networks, i simply cannot connect to it (i get passphrase error, even though password is correct).
Could this be a driver issue ?
On loboris image i have no problems, wifi works straight away.

Did you run?:

1. wpa_passphrase [SSID] password [YOURWIFIPASSWORD]

Copy code

The long string of letters and numbers that that command prints out next to "wpa-psk" is for your /etc/network/interfaces file, don't put your actual wifi password in there. Also be sure to uncomment the auto wlan0 line and the 3 lines beneath it.

I didnt do that, i just entered my wifi password via GUI interface...

Oh I am using the server distro so I have no gui :p.
