I am having the same issue as BlitzkriegBop.  However, I can have my WiFi dongle plugged in without it rebooting.  My OPi PC runs fine and shows wireless networks but when I try to connect to one, during obtaining an IP, the OPi PC crashes and reboots every time.

I've tried two different WiFi dongles, one Edimax and one RTL8788 (or similar low cost one) and both have the same effect.

I have had it connected to a variable power supply with current measurement and can tell it isn't getting starved of power during the connection process.

I am using the latest version of Armbian for the OPi PC.  I checked my download.  It is v5.20 and I downloaded it on 10/7/16

Any ideas?

It's possible that the wireless driver is bad. It happened before and it will happen again ... here we can't do much since we can't support 3rd party hardware.

If you addressed all power related issues, you can only try some other wireless key. 8192CU is reported working ok for example.
