You could actually install dtc from repository. Package name is device-tree-compiler. Didn't I put ...

I don't see it mentioned in FAQ. But i don't understand what is all about, so maybe it is there, but i can't see it. I haven't seen this error before.

Unfortunately my self build images failed at first boot. This is the massage i see on screen:
  1. sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
Copy code

Is there any problem with sources? Or i have to look for the problem in me and maybe try with different OS and new copy from git?

Build from source worked well last time I compiled them (when I published update), so I wouldn't say that it is something wrong with them.

And yes, I mentioned dtc issue in FAQ point 10 (note).

since the latest updates on github i can't get a working system back on and don't have the time anymore, i need to say GOODBYE guys, keep up the good work. it was an exciting time to see what a small community can bring on. Keep compiling!

OpenELEC 8.0 with Kodi 17.1 was released (http://openelec.tv/news/22-relea ... enelec-8-0-released)
Is anybody tried to merge this openelec 8.0 branch to current @jernej fork (https://github.com/jernejsk/OpenELEC-OPi2)

I "jump in" with the information I have:

jernej works on mainline kernel now and will not continue to work with legacy kernels, which Openelec for Opi PC is based on. Some others try to do that, but currently it is only Libreelec 7 with Kodi 16. There is a Kodi 17 running on Armbian (not Libre/Openelec) with legacy kernel without hardware acceleration.

I know that @jernej stopped developing OpenELEC, I know that all other things.Read carefully - the question was about merging yesterday released OpenELEC 8.0 (not LibreELEC),so I doubt it that somebody tried to merge it.
