How is this image working (Debian-Server)?

I copied the img with Win32Imager to a SD put it in, con ...

Go to your router and find out the IP of the Orange Pi, ssh in and try apt-get install lxde for a desktop. The first boot is slow because it is expanding the sd card.

@john0815
I have a blank screen - RED Led is on - LAN leds are on too.

Can anyone give me information if this is OK? IF OK - how can I access to the Board and install a GUI .

I think its OK. you can access it via SSH from another computer in your LAN or via serial connector on board.
Can not test it. my board is still on customs

@blindpet
Keyring is easy enough to fix, but this really should be done before shipping the image, don't you think?

you're absolutely right.
I am not a lover of "pre-cooked" images, I prefer to compile my own kernel and ......
But for that, we need sources!
Without sources is this board useless!

Boards:
orangepi plus, olinuxino A20, cubieboard A10, mele A2000 .....

I understand the Allwinner H3 SOC is internally called sun8iw7p1. Googling for this leads to the following github repository with source code available https://github.com/allwinner-zh/ ... latform-sun8iw7p1.h

I haven't yet received my Orange Pi Plus but would be curious if these kernel sources could be used to build a working kernel for it.

Of course what would be ideal is proper support by the mainline kernel, but no sign of H3 related activity there so far.

Just some quick benchmarks, this image needs newer drivers for SATA

Uploading via ftp over gigabit was only 9.5 MB/s
Downloading via ftp over gigabit was only 17.5 MB/s

I have gotten much higher speeds on the A20 chips, I expect the H3 to be better and my guess is it is a driver issue at this point. I will wait for a newer image/drivers before doing more tests.

For iperf, I get around 480 Mb/s with A20, I got 577 Mb/s with H3, however speed was not good over the network transferring from Orange Pi Plus's SATA disk. That's why I think it's a SATA driver or kernel issue.

H3 does not support native SATA.
SATA on Orange Pi Plus is via USB-bridge.

Debian image works nicely for me.

Steven, any chance on getting the kernel and u-boot sources released soon? (I would want to see if I can get F22 working on it)
A tarball of the sources would be enough for me if you are lacking the time to upload to e.g. github.

Thanks, Frans

@Frans  I will get you link address for downloading source code.  But you don't release the source code now until I will inform you.  I think we will release all source code on May 30. Can you agree it?
