why is my OPi5+ reporting RK3588s cpu instead of RK3588?

I have used various methods of identifying the CPU type but all the apps and commands I have tried (including looking at the system settings) say it is a RK3588S cpu.
Is there a command that shows the CPU really is a RK3588 and not a badged RK3588S?

Are all the OPi5+ boards the same?
