Stevie Whyte just updated his version of retropie for orangepi (RetrOrangePi) 11 hours ago @https://www.facebook.com/groups/1483270805309190/.

Hi guys, myself and Alerino Reis have been working very hard these past few weeks on a new retropie for orangepi (RetrOrangePi). We now feel its time to release for testing.
It is now based on armbian 5.14 so we can take advantage of the faster gpu clock speed. It features the full armbian desktop which can be launched from Emulationstation.
ES and retroarch in framebuffer. Kodi in X11
Now that we are using a well maintained kernel we will be releasing future updates as simple scripts instead of full images.
Kodi has been updated to 17 Krypton (controller support is not working yet, hopefully we will get this fixed very soon) And mpv player is still external player for now.
Ps3 Bluetooth controllers and xbox 360 controllers are supported out the box.
This has been tested on opi one and opi pc. other boards may work as well.
As this is a pretty huge leap, expect some minor or major bugs.
user - pi
pass - pi
root - orangepi
--------------------------------------------------------------------
To resize file system, log in as pi and run
cd
sudo ./resize.sh -p
It will reboot, log in again and run
cd
sudo ./resize.sh -f
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Things to note: Slight tearing in ES menu.
Please report any bugs and we will try and get them fixed.
Thanks

I just wanted to say thank you for working so hard on this project and I do have some problems to report.
1. PSX games are very laggy ETC crash bandicoot 1,2,3, ctr
2. Keyboard is not being detected as a gamepad so you cannot use it to browse the menus, it only works when you enter the raspi config
3. wifi adapters can't connect to WPA-2 personal leading to crash and unable to connect messages.

1 and 2 will be fixed in the next update (probably today). 3 depends on armbian kernel update.

Hi, first of all a big thank you to all people who are working to create a Orange fork of ES/Retropie! Your work and this thread is the single reason I bought an Orange Pi PC Plus two weeks ago. Btw. I think the PC Plus offers the best value for money at this moment, since I definitely wanted a 1.6GHz model.

I wonder if there's any progress atm, because most links are dead now. The version that I still could download is booting fine (I haven't tried any functionality yet), but it would be nice if the last bugs could get ironed out and I'm not propellor-headed enough to do it myself.

Btw: Why a PC Plus? The One ($10) and the Lite ($12) are much cheaper, but "only" have 1.2GHz clockspeed. The PC ($15) is almost the same, but without Wifi and eMMC flash. A separate wifi dongle takes up a USB port and sets you back another $5, so basically you get the flash memory for free. The Plus 2E ($35) has double RAM, double flash and Gbit ethernet when compared to the PC Plus but is almost double the price too. The Plus ($40) adds 1 USB port and SATA to the PC Plus, but is double the price. And the Plus 2 ($50) adds 1 USB port and SATA to the Plus 2E, but is the most expensive model. Therefore, if ES/Retropie is the end station, I think the PC Plus offers the best value for money.

Thanks! I already found a thread about RetrOrangePi earlier this evening when I finally had the time to browse all forums. I understand that you joined forces with Steve Whyte and maybe a few other people to merge all ES/RetroPie versions into RetrOrangePi. This is great news!

I've just downloaded V2.0 and will burn and test it tomorrow.

Good morning, everybody okay ?

I have a problem with the installation of Retrorange PI for Plus 2e model , he accuses a script error on startup and the screen is all black . It would be a syntax error , indicating that the " ) " is incorrect .

I wonder if you already did some testing with the Plus model 2e . It works?

Thank you very much
