Hi Orange Pi Community,
I want to share a few quick tips on managing temperatures and fixing thermal throttling on Orange Pi boards.
  • Hardware Cooling:

  • Always attach copper/aluminum heatsinks to the CPU and PMIC.
  • Add a 5V cooling fan. Active cooling reduces temperatures by 15°C–20°C.
  • Use an open-air or well-ventilated case.

  • Check CPU Temperature:Run this command in the terminal:cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp(Divide the result by 1000 to get °C)
  • Adjust CPU Governor:To keep your board running cool during light tasks, set the governor to ondemand:echo "ondemand" | sudo tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor

What cooling setup are you using for your board? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
