Has someone got a positive experience with NVR (network video recording) application?
I've just tried setting up a ZoneMinder and Xeoma.

ZoneMinder has the best approach I could wish from the Linux software.
The server part installs well. The client runs on a Web interface or an Android client.
But it turns to be very slow on a 1 camera installation.

Xeoma is a trial/paying addition. It is not open.
There is not Web interface. One need to install the client. It complicates at least the application evaluation.
It can work for you, but I didn't proceed.

OpenCVR can not run on ARM:

OpenCVR-r2.0.4-Ubuntu-14.04-64bit.tar.gz         2016-03-19         39.1 MB

/usr/src/OpenCVR-r2.0.4-Ubuntu-14.04-64bit# file ./bin/OpenCVRStor
./bin/OpenCVRStor: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=73edd0a2689a4c4499872347f3b1d4cc3c15f604, stripped

ATTENTION!!! ATTENTION!!! This project is not completely open source. To compile and use this
program, you need the unknown origin closed source librarys velib and veuilib. You can not
compile the program for the arm and mips because velib and veuilib only available in binary form
only for x86 and x64 architectures. Type of License for libraries velib and veuilib unknown!

I tried the Motion.
The Debian package with apt-get install sets up a version, which doesn't work with the RTSP stream.

It was necessary building a different Motion folk in order to be able to get the RTSP stream  my camera.

The  resources consumption with one IP H264 camera is as follows :
root@orangepiplus:/usr/local/etc/motion# armbianmonitor -m
Stop monitoring using [ctrl]-[c]
Time        CPU    load %cpu %sys %usr %nice %io %irq   CPU
17:46:55: 1296MHz  3.06  18%   0%  17%   0%   0%   0%   74°C
17:47:00: 1200MHz  2.98  18%   0%  17%   0%   0%   0%   73°C
17:47:05: 1296MHz  2.98  18%   0%  17%   0%   0%   0%   74°C
17:47:10: 1200MHz  3.30  18%   0%  17%   0%   0%   0%   72°C

Different problems need to be resolved with the custom setup.
