Hi everyone,
I’m seriously considering starting a company in Switzerland. The stability and international reputation are big pluses, but I’m trying to wrap my head around the actual process.
Is it complicated to set up a company there as a foreigner? I’ve heard that things like banking and registration can be slow or strict. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s actually done it—how did it go, how long did it take, and what would you do differently if you had to start over?

Hey, I went through this process about 8 months ago, and while it wasn’t exactly plug-and-play, it was totally manageable with some proper planning. The key for me was partnering with a service that specializes in Swiss company formation , because doing it alone from abroad is way more complicated. They helped me choose between GmbH and AG structures, handled all the paperwork, and even coordinated with a local notary and bank. The entire setup took just under a month. The most time-consuming part was opening the business bank account due to the due diligence. But once that was done, everything else fell into place. If you want a company with real international credibility, Switzerland is worth it—even if the upfront process is a bit more involved than in places like Estonia or Cyprus.
