You can root the standard image, read through this thread. To use wifi:
1. USB wifi adapter must be based on RTL8188EU or similar chipset (more info here). This one works 100%.
2. Do not plug the USB wifi stick.
3. Start Android.
4. Plug the wifi stick into the bottom USB port and wait for a minute.
5. Unplug the wifi stick.
6. Turn off the Orange Pi PC.
7. Plug the wifi stick and then turn on the Orange Pi PC.
wifi stick will work only in the bottom USB port but you have two more working ports to use with airmouse/keyboard etc.
