I am using the Power Supply received with the unit.  The red LED only comes on intermittently on the Orange Pi Plus itself.  When the red led does not show, there is no image on my monitor.
I have tried different mains power sockets, with the same result.
When the red LED does come on, the Orange Pi Plus is good to go, I have tested it and it has worked for over 48 hours on!

I have received a replacement Orange Pi Plus.    So far, every time it has been connected to the mains the red light has come on.  The original Orange Pi Plus is now "retired".
The Probability of this unit for successfully powering on was something in the region of 1 in 20 connections to the mains, to answer your question zhao_steven.
