Orange OS comes with SuperSU installed.
But it fails to install binary.
I expected Orange OS to be rooted.

How do I install root on Orange OS ?

Should I upload some files to SD card?

I expected Orange Pi to be rooted.

Pretty sure Orange OS is basically Linux so when you want to do something as root you use sudo. For instance if you wanted to do something only root can do you place sudo before the command. (SuperUser Do)

If for example you wanted to change the hostname of you OPI  you would first see what thw current name is,

hostname

And you will see what your PI is named. Now to change it to "newname" you use sudo

sudo hostname newname
The system will ask you for your passward and you are done.

Using sudo instead of working in a root terminal protects one from doing something really bad.

Orange OS is Android available for Orange Pi PC
http://www.orangepi.org/downloadresources/

I guess I can replace default su or build suid binary (I have 100GB AOSP on server)

I just expect such hacky board will come with root.
I need root to set droidmote or similar app to control box from phone.

I downloaded Kingoroot APK from their website directly onto the PI. Then install the APK and run it. has one click root. took about 1min to complete.
