Please test this image (available for 14 days): https://transfer.sh/gVlO2/openel ... r23108-g97f809b.tar

Allwinner published new CedarX drivers which have slightly different memory management, which might be enough to fix channel switching issue. I also applied latest know USB fixes, so it might also solve few things.

Reports very welcome!

Last two weeks I worked on EDID resolutions. While it is not completely ready, I'm highly interested if it works on non 1080p display. Sadly, I don't have any such display at hand. I would ask anyone who has 4:3 or not 1080p capable display to give a try to this experimental update (available for 14 days): https://transfer.sh/11XxPg/opene ... r23108-g97f809b.tar

It has few issues, so it is not recommended to use it daily. To actually use automatic resolution setting, HDMI cable must be connected during power up. So if you are not sure, please reboot OpenELEC with cable inserted. I'm mostly interested if Kodi is sized perfectly (no black borders of any kind) or if there are any display issues (black screen, etc.). Please check what resolution is reported by Kodi. Along that I would like to get output of dmesg.

Little update from me - I bought samsung sd card, at the beginning, opi was shutting down(no reboot like with other sd card), even when i tried to upload update archive through ftp. After some time it started to work fine, no shutdowns/reboots for now, but had few freezes, for example, tried to disable TV in settings(wanted to reset channels after changes in PVR addon).

Hi jernej,
I bought USB to UART to capture logs from kodi iterface handing, but this issue does not reproduce for now.
However I observed kodi interface restart while channel switching in PVR Simple IPTV Client, but I'm not sure if it's something fixed in your latest images (I cannot test them because my OPiPlus is connected to outside network and I always need to compile my own images with custom password).
I got kodi crashlog - https://paste.ubuntu.com/23345668/ it seems to point to Cedar which was updated by you in latest image.
Serial output doesn't show anything suspicious - this is printed during crash:

[12295.780075] vmouse_input_dev_close
[12303.765289] [pm]state:1 valid
[12303.768591] [pm]state:3 valid
[12303.771908] [pm]state:7 valid
[12306.512933] vmouse_input_dev_open
[12306.690092] vmouse_input_dev_close
[12306.750217] vmouse_input_dev_open

Is this issue fixed in your image?
Should I compile new image based on latest sw and try to reproduce again?

That's why I uploaded test image to test if this is fixed. Unfortunatelly, I don't consider changes "stable" or "good", so I wanted a bit of testing before commiting them. If you really want to compile it yourself, I can create test branch for this...

No, if your latest changes are not delivered then I'll just upgrade for test and downgrade after. Will get back with results.

Ok I've tested image.
First thing I noticed is that Kodi window resized - in my case it was zommed in, but it may be related to TV settings, changing settings on TV caused interface to fit perfectly (1080p screen)
Another thing is that HDMI CEC stopped working.

I was able to reproduce two issues
1) Hanging kodi interface - however there was no output in console at all at that moment, also no crash was generated. Kodi was just hanging (but board seems to be running ok since I was able to execute commands through console)
Image looks this way: Image
Console output: https://paste.ubuntu.com/23345806/
No dump generated

2) Another type of hang: this time error was printed to console: Internal error: Oops - bad syscall: ac3f44 [#1] PREEMPT SMP ARM
After that board freeze and I was not able to communicate over console or GUI
Console log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/23345852/
I had to hard power cycle, no crashdump visible.

3) The same as freeze nr 2, but this time no additional trace over serial, board just freezed

Next time I'll see issue nr 1 I'll kill kodi by sending SIGABRT because it seems to generate dump (maybe this will help to figure out what is happening to interface)
I did not see cedar crash (for now)
