Benchmark Orange Pi PC 2 @ Debian Jessie 64Bit vs RPI 3 Raspian Jessie 32 Bit

### To make the Benchmark yourself1. Install sysbench
Click here to read about sysbench: https://www.howtoforge.com/how-t ... mysql-with-sysbench

sudo apt-get install sysbench

2. Benchmark
Click here for the benchmark method on a RPI2 : http://www.davidhunt.ie/raspberry-pi-2-benchmarked/

CPU Threat 1:
sysbench --test=cpu --cpu-max-prime=20000 run
CPU Multi:
sysbench --test=cpu --num-threads=4 --cpu-max-prime=10000 run
Memory:
sysbench --test=memory --memory-block-size=1M --memory-total-size=10G --num-threads=4 run
IO Write:
sysbench --test=fileio --file-test-mode=rndwr --file-total-size=16MB --num-threads=4 prepare
sysbench --test=fileio --file-test-mode=rndwr --file-total-size=16MB --max-requests=1000 --num-threads=4 run

IO Read:
sysbench --test=fileio --file-test-mode=rndrd --file-total-size=16MB --max-requests=10000 --num-threads=4 run
Cleanup:
sysbench --test=fileio --file-total-size=16MB cleanup
###

Hey Folks,

did a benchmark - enjoy the pictures Upper half = Raspberry - lower Half (of the picture) = orangepi

Cheers Bruce from Germany

Unfortunately sysbench is simply crap to measure CPU performance. This thingie does only prime number calculations and results vary dependent on compiler settings: When you use Ubuntu Xenial instead of Debian Jessie sysbench numbers are 30 percent higher (why? Most probably since Xenial uses GCC 5.4 and Jessie 4.9). If you allow the compiler to generate code for ARMv8 then execution times of this useless 'benchmark' are 15 times lower/faster (always remember: sysbench on RPi is built with ARMv6 settings even on RPi 3!). Even sysbench version number influences massively the results. With 0.5 scores are way lower than with 0.4.12 as used everywhere these days.
In case anyone is really interested in performance of various SBC read through:

RPi 3 has faster CPU cores compared to A64 or H5 but that doesn't really matter since especially the latter has way more network and IO bandwidth available.

And not to forget the 1Gbit Port and the two independant USB 2.0 Host (1x/2x) .

Marvelous.I will be able' to use the pc2 to make the benchmark and the raspberry to see the tv, considering that on the product that has a stupendous benchmark, it doesn't turn us of it kodi of it tvheadend........But it has a beautiful benchmark

The OrangePi and the Raspberry were never meant to be a Kodi Platform. There are better device or TV Boxes out there. But in case you want to run an experimental Firewall/Server/NAS on it you got more power.

4K , USB (all independent channels , no hubs )  ,Ethernet(physical , rasperry is connected on USB hub) , Mali graphics , More UART,  In every aspect Orange Pi has better hardware than Raspberry , but software and support sucks ..

Hi,

NAS, really? The OPI PC2 is not able to exeed ~30MB/s. Even with cheap mother boards you can build a cheap and low power real NAS...

I wanted to put you one very little word just to say thank you over again over the spectacular ideas you’ve provided at this time. It was certainly surprisingly open-handed of people like you to present freely all many individuals would’ve sold for an e-book to help with making some cash for themselves, specifically seeing that you might have tried it in case you wanted. These concepts as well acted to be a great way to realize that most people have similar dream the same as my very own to learn somewhat more in regard to this matter. I am sure there are some more enjoyable opportunities ahead for individuals who read carefully your blog post.        Hướng dẫn rút tiền VIN777

An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write extra on this topic, it may not be a taboo topic but typically people are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers        a course in miracles
