Do you know yet when Orange Pi Lite will be available for order and shipping?

Why do you want to wait for Lite? Currently it is more profitable to buy One or just regular PC version and cheap WiFi dongle for 1.7USD or less. For such price you will have WiFi and Ethernet on one board (for 11.7 or 16.7USD in total). In OPiOne you can solder disassembled WiFi dongle directly to USB data pins on the PCB. It will save you one USB (in One there are only 2 USB sockets not 4 like in PC but there are solder points for 2 missing ones)

Because I have tried many and cannot find one WiFi Dongle that works with Orange Pi H3 for less than 3USD.

If you have a link to where I can buy a 1.7USD WiFi Dongle that actually works, it will be must appreciated.

Actually I am happy as long as it is below 3USD.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I need the on board USB for Bluetooth 4.0, and I don't want the additional production complexity and risk of disassembling dongles and the like. If someone knows of a combo WiFi/Bluetooth4.0 dongle that works, that would change things, but I've yet to find one.

I haven't received it yet but according to people on this forum RTL8188 chipset is commonly supported by most distros.

I have the OPI PC and wish I'd held out for the Lite. My favourite Linux distro only supports one USB and none of the WiFi dongles in my parts bin. I'm using it with a USB hub and a router in bridge mode. I'll probably get a Lite just for an Android TV box and put Linux on the PC.

Weird. Why don't you exchange script.bin so that the USB ports are useable or the whole distro?

N ...

I'm going to try Armbian on the OPI-PC when I get an OPI-Lite. The Lite will be my Android board and the PC will be my Linux board.

I bought 2 pieces from the same seller and got 8192eu instead, dispute ended with nothing (seller insists everything is OK, 8192eu is an update, no big deal, here's zip file with drivers, go compile yourself), money wasted.

Thanks for the info. I bought only 1 dongle. 8192 is also quite common in most distros so I hope it will work. Second dongle I purchased from different seller. Fortunately 1.65-1.7USD is not such huge amount of money so I can experiment with it.
