@xwalter
Thanks for your share!

remember that Xunlong software (admin/zhao_steven) does not develop any software but Hardware boards.
I don't recommend to use any software from the orange pi download section specialy with the newer boards.
I don't recommend to use any unmaintained software (loboris] if you are not able to debug and to resolve issues yourself.
The only thing you can do is rely on maintained distros like armbian (newer tried)and openelec, this are the only two somewhat maintained distros specialy with newer boards.
And invest more time to resolve your issues and not "dance" from one distro to the other in only few hours.
Yeah and pi plus2 will be anyway obsolete there is pi 2F and pi 3G coming.
The software depends only on the work done by the community there are absolutly no support from allwinner and hardware vendor remember this if you decide to buy another orange pi. ;)
Boards:
orangepi plus, olinuxino A20, cubieboard A10, mele A2000 .....

Wifi issues has been fixed on Armbian ... doing tests, so next image / update will fix this. In WICD you need to go to advanced settings and choose  wpa_driver = none , than it connects fine. To WPA2 networks ... This will not be needed in next image.

I tested AP mode, also works. All you need to do is to use bridge network configuration(/etc/network/interfaces.bridge) that you make use of your routers DHCP server, than run:

hostapd /etc/hostapd.conf ( SSID / 12345678 on channel 5)

but with armbian I have some troubles with the video .....

What kind of troubles? Where? In which application? We only support video acceleration with mpv and for those codecs which are supported by the http://linux-sunxi.org/Cedrus
It's more like a demostration that it works. We will not provide more than that.
