Hi all,

I have been trying to install a decent server distrubition to my "orange pi zero (256MB Ram)" SoC board.
I want to ask you some questions;

  • I can not download the "Debian Server" and "Ubuntu Server" distrubitions from the official Download Resources link. (See attached image) Could this download links for both distributions are ever be downloadable? Or could you provide me some working links?
  • Is there any decent distrubition alternatives? I'am trying to build a stable and robust Wifi AP from Orange Pi Zero so distrubiton should be as stable as possible. Armbian is an alternative but in the official armbian orange pi zero page it says "No stable releases yet. Check nightly releases tab to see if experimental images are available."
  • What do you offer for building such a robust WiFi AP Server. (WiFi AP will collect data from multiple wifi sensors and sends the collective data to the database server)

Thank you

This means there is no stable mainline linux support. Public kernel from www.kernel.org ... here is little background info, how far things are.

Just download Ubuntu or Debian under Armbian legacy section. This is the best what you can get. Alternatives are either build on this or way older and buggier. Mainline kernel v4.9.4+ is bleeding edge, but is working good, better than aging 3.4.113. We just don't provide this kernel (images), because it's not fully ready and because people failing to read imporant notes which lead to waste and abuse of our time. It's under nightly tab, because we can't provide any support, since it's changing and built daily. Therefore build can be broken and for betas, people don't complain ...

Beware that this boards wireless chip, which is among cheapest on the planet, was never meant to act as an robust AP server. With few devices and on a very short range ... maybe.
