Hi all,

I have received a DVI/HDMI adapter (like this) to work with my screen, but it does not work.
I have No Signal, but it seems to receive something at the boot (the led is red->green->red)
The screen works fine in VGA, and the screen in DVI works fine with my PC.

I have tried to select HDMI in Android, and DVI with the screen's OSD, no effect.

Have you an idea why the OPi (normal model) doesn't works with this adapter ?

Thanks

here is my uImage and script bin for 4/3 monitors.
possible resolutions are 1280x1024 and 1024x768.
With the attached script.bin the resolution is 1280x1024. To change to 1024x768 you have to edit the script.fex

720p_50 -> 1024x768
720p_60 -> 1280x1024

I have also tried to plug my laptop via this cable (HDMI + HDMI - DVI adapter) and it works...
So I think OPi HDMI is the cause.
I will try to see in the config.fex file...

I think I will stay with VGA, because full HD (1920x1080) is supported.
No way with DVI and this adapter.

Hi, gaara, I've been using my OPi2 connected to a 1080p only monitor and to a full HD LCD TV, both via HDMI, but I am curious about this HDMI-DVI adapter not working. I am 500km away from home now and cannot test my OPi2 with similar adapters I have, but I will do so once I return home in a few weeks. Please post any progress you make on the subject.

It is another one of their bait and switch. Raspberry Pi2 works great with HDMI-DVI, Orange doesn't. What's new?

If the DVI monitor is also capable of the same resolution (1080p in my current images) then I have no clue at the moment. What I foresee as a problem for me is that I will try to connect the OPi2 to a 1280x1024 DVI monitor, and I am guessing that I will have to go through the resolution reconfiguration steps (script.bin). But if it still does not work after that, then I have no idea what could be wrong. I will run tests in a few weeks and will report my results here.

With RPi it seems that the config.txt line "config_hdmi_boost=4" works. (link)
But I don't know if an equivalent exist in fex file.
Anyway, I will try with this cable. (0.5m, I need a short one for my project). The DVI plug is a little different that my adapter, even if both are DVI-D.
I hope my OPi will accept it !

Nope. I'm using now an HDMI -> VGA adapter, the signal is better than the original VGA

Ok. I'll try with the adapter, considering that I have no way to use it directly on an HDMI device. Thanks.
