Hey there,
I noticed that the One Plus permanently creating a load of 3 even when there is no process using cpu time.

  1. <blockquote>top - 15:15:43 up 4 min,  1 user,  load average: 2.98, 1.84, 0.79
Copy code

After a few minutes the load avg stabilize at about 3.
  1. <div>
  2. </div><div>Linux rt3 3.10.65 #35 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jan 23 18:13:02 CST 2018 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux</div>
Copy code
  1. cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
  2. 53
Copy code

The CPU frequency is always 1,8GHz on all four cores and can also not be stepped down by using cpufreq-set.

Any ideas on this?

Update:
  1. top - 15:41:42 up 21 min,  1 user,  load average: 3.00, 2.98, 2.28
Copy code
  1. 10:07:46 up 3 days,  2:08,  1 user,  load average: 3.08, 3.07, 3.05
Copy code

Do I have a broken board?

No, just kernel quality is a bare minimum.

BTW. You can see our Linux load on the picture:

It's an insane big difference but of course kernel is not ready yet for end users. Still, months to go.

It's not yet adjusted for Opi One Plus, but it's an H6 chip.

I'd love to, but I don't know where to start.

Both projects need not just hardcore kernel hackers. If you are good at bash, a lot of scripting needs to be revisited https://github.com/armbian/config/tree/development This script also need an updated manual https://github.com/armbian/docum ... e_Armbian-Config.md ... an entire section of manuals needs constant updating: https://github.com/armbian/documentation/tree/master/docs Then there are forum moderators duties, testing https://forum.armbian.com/topic/ ... li-xu4-next-upgrade ... and nevertheless if you don't have time, you can help fund the project https://www.armbian.com/donate
Out of all this, you have to do what you know best and like to. Things where you want to improve your skills or just have fun.

You're welcome. I'd like to find a newer version of the kernel to solve this (and lots of other issu ...

Does not exist and will not for some time, but you can get it sooner by helping those projects:

Thanks.

Are there any early development bleeding edge kernel images or even complete images from Armian available for the OPi One Plus yet? I'd love to test those and report any bug I run into.

I know unexpected or weird behavior can occour but I take the risk.

It seems like the RaspberryPI ran into the same issue a few years ago. It was caused by a bug in the firmware.
https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/issues/46

Any chance this gets fixed for the OrangePI?
