It seems that I assumed too much. This bug will be fixed when proper renderer will be implemented. Meanwhile, don't switch channels directly

ok, no problem

PS: I also compiled this exact same version of openelec and pvr.hts plugin for the RaspberryPi-2 and it has a very similar issue when switching channels.
However on the RPI kodi itself doesn't crash and the "crashed" videostream can be stopped and restarted.

How can I have both analog and hdmi audio output in Openelec? So far, I have only been able to choose 1 or the other. Thanks.

I can agree with the above. Why couldn't we have both, the 3.5mm audio out & the HDMI audio, if necessary both active at the same time. I like the video quality of my TV, but not it's speakers so much. I've got an external 3 watt amp,
I use with my main PC (running Kode), with a pair of Sony speakers, that beats the TV's sound quality.

I'm not sure about OpenELEC's way for handling the audio. If they use plain old ALSA then you should be able to combine audio outputs like in this: http://www.6by9.net/output-to-multiple-audio-devices-with-alsa/
That way the audio is fed to both devices simultaneously.

For using systemd you should set CONFIG_FHANDLE=y in kernel config file. Please check this link below.

If you must use a kernel without CONFIG_FHANDLE, try using a Debian rootfs with sysvinit.

So I just installed the latest image and tried streaming from my HDHomerun Prime which had been working before if I turned off deinterlacing.  However now it seems I just get a blank screen, I get the audio but no video.  I've tried before turning on and off deinterlacing with no effect.  When I view the video info the decoder is cedarx-mpeg2 and it certainly seems like its decoding the video but nothing is being displayed.  I tried some other videos I have and it seems I'm not getting and video output from those either, so i guess something broke.  Or maybe its me, I'm going to do a little more digging around and verify for sure.

This option was always enabled from my first github upload. You can check all configs. Why do you think it's not?

@jmhunter240, @chaszim,
ALSA things have low priority. I have a lot of troubles to get it working properly. You can try with JokinenK suggestion and put alsa config in /storage/.config/asound.conf

@bodrick,
did you compile image for yourself? Please check problem with a black screen few posts back. It should be same problem and same solution (update to latest commit and rebuild everything).

@hojnikb,
not really. Someone suggested using ext3 instead of ext4, but I didn't test it. Issue usually goes away after few movies played (few seconds is enough), especially after h264 ones, but sometimes it reapperes. Do you have same issue with other distributions?
