Does OPI supports 4K resolution over HDMI ? accoring toAllwinner SOC CPU is capable of 4K .
I would like to try 4K on TV, Since all OPI linux default resolution support max upto 1080? Is there anyway i can enable?

I am not afraid to crosscompile and debug linux kernel

Not really. Video driver supports max. 1080p. Besides, on HDMI 1.4 you can't get nice 4K resolution.

Yes it does.I use one of my boards for 4k player on my tv and it works nice and smooth. And what was that about the hdmi 1.4 ? Difference between 1.4 and 2.0 is the refresh rate limitation and the data bandwidth but still 30hz is more than enough. And there is no difference in picture quality.

4K @30Hz is not usable for daily desktop operations.

I am not looking for daily use but rather Media Center, like using KODI, browsing some Pictures etc. it seems OK @30Hz.
With SAMSUNG 4K TV OPI-PLUS goes to 1080P@60HZ.

I would like to know how can set lubuntu/ubuntu settings to 4K?

One of the first test I made on my OPI + whith native Android is playing a 4K 25HZ HEVC file .
It worked very well but I don't have a 4K monitor.
The file used was a test DVBT broadcast
So I tried other files from satellite with less success.
Until now results with various Linux distributions have been poor.
