kswapd high CPU usage

Edited by Showgoat at 2015-10-28 05:42

I Install Debian Jessie with shared Folder over Samba on Orange Pi Plus "OP+"
For test i use a folder with 1GB of *.mp3 files and copying it from a windows Maschine over GBLan to OP+ on a external USB-HD. The transferrate is 30-34MB/s. The OP+ Memory space running low.
After copy process is done kswapd0 run infiniti one Core with 100%  usage and don't stop.
I great a Swapspace but system won't use it.

have any other this Problem too or a solution for this?

Is there any specific tool for monitor CPU temperature?

you can use in Terminal
watch cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
and stop it with ctrl+c

@goskum @toxuin  there was a bug in update_kernel.sh for 720p resolution. Sorry and thanks for warning. Please download the updated script.

@toxuin   "device_and_resolution_specific.bin" is copyed to script.bin, and there is no need for u-boot update, it never changes.

I need to monitor USB bus bandwidth via collectD.
Maybe I'll have to build a kernel with usbmon enabled or can someone think of a better way?

I've created a small minecraft server and after having stopped the server, kswapd0 takes 100% in my case, too.

I'm also using Debian Jessie but on an Orange Pi PC.
Have you tried stone's fix?
http://www.orangepi.org/orangepi ... &fromuid=120640

Sadly I've didn't have the time to try it until now. If you try it, please share your results, it will help others.

"echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"  seems to (temporarily) fix the kswapd0 issue...at least on my OPI

Hi,

Having some problems transfering debian from eMMC to sd card.

install_to_sdcard was added later and maybe it does not exists on your installation.
Download desktop_scripts.tar.gz and unpack to /usr/local/bin
run
  1. sudo install_to_sdcard
Copy code
btrfs is an optional parameter to format the linux partition as btrfs (when the parameter is enclosed in [...] it means it is optional, if using it, use it without [ ])

If you are new to linux, do not login as root, it is the best way to problems ...

Hi @loboris . Is there any possibility to port Linux 4 kernel to H3? I see there is a Linux 4 kernel sunxi source on github.
It has for example updated btrfs which is very outdated in the current 3.4

Thanks for your work
