Just got news from Xunlong CEO Steven a few days ago, they are going to release a OPI-PC enhanced board called OPI-PC Plus with Wifi module and 8GB eMMC added to the classic OPI-PC . The front and back side of the board shows below. Xunlong will sell the board with a competent low price as usual.

Xunlong also has a OPI-PLUS 2E in production, which is a improvement of OPI-PLUS 2 which will use the same USB bus design as OPI-PC. Here is the snapshot of the new board.

Accoring to Steven, the H64 based OPIs also in production. Hopefuly it will compete with the Pine64 board.

OPiPC for $15 was a good deal. But adding WiFi and eMMC for $10 is rather worse deal. Cheap WiFi dongles are available for only $1.7 and 8GB eMMC will not be much much faster than fast UHS-1 microSD 16GB+ cards. With the price closer to RPi3 Orange will not be competitive with limited support, still many issues with available OS images. So, I'd rather wait for $20 version of 2GB RAM OPiPC or similar with ARM64 SoC.

Looks like they again resorted to overclocking and overvolting the H3 the maximum limit.

Actual frequency and voltage depends on particular image that you use, so you can't automatically say they overclocked/overvolted it. Nevertheless, advertising it as 1.6 GHz is misleading.

Nope (and who needs USB/SATA 3.0 in a smartphone anyway?). A57 is more likely candidate for NAS SoC ...

So, what about this:

It's nice one for development boards.

I'll be waiting for board on a such SOC.

The Orange Pi Plus 2E looks very compelling to me..

Hard to tell from photo, but I think I see different WiFi chip and the slow SATA looks to be gone (good riddance). I think I still see 2GB RAM, eMMC (16GB?), and Gb ethernet chip.
